If you’ve ever enjoyed a craft cocktail, it probably included cocktail bitters. Cocktail bitters are slightly alcoholic tinctures, flavored with a variety of botanical matter. They have been used for at least a century and can drastically alter the flavor of a drink.
In this class, Carla of SF Tinctures will teach you the history of bitters and cover the basics of bitter making, flavor combinations, and bottling techniques. You’ll go home with your own custom 8 oz Grapefruit Infusion– perfect as a gift or to keep for yourself!
Attendees must be 21+ We'll check your ID when you arrive for class.
Your workshop ticket includes:
- 2 hours of hands-on and personalized instruction from a talented small business owner
- 1 (8oz) glass jar, 12 different roots, seeds, fruit and herbs to make the bitters, and after care instructions
- Class handout
- Use of tools to scrape and chop ingredients
- Sweet treats & Beverages
- 10% off all retail purchases on the day of the workshop
This class is on a sliding-scale basis. The cost per person to be $80 so if you are able to pay that, that would be appreciated. Use the following codes at checkout to access sliding scale tickets. If a code does not work, it means tickets at that price have sold out.

About the Teacher
Carla Lovett-DaSilva has over 30 years in the catering business and for the love of cocktails decided to enter the bitter making community. She now runs and operates Tincture SF bitters company here in Oakland and would love to share her love for making bitters with you!
