Explore printmaking and stamp carving with us! In this beginner friendly workshop, you’ll learn how to properly handle carving tools, carve your own custom stamp, apply ink, and print with precision. With personalized, hands-on instruction, you will carve, ink, and make your own unique prints!

First we will consider design elements and composition, and create our own motifs. Then, we will carve designs on one linoleum slab, which you can cut into two pieces if you’d like. Finally, you’ll print your designs to create a print, cards and envelopes, and a tote bag! You will leave with your hand carved stamps, in addition to the knowledge to continue stamp-making. You are welcome to bring small textiles to print on (shirts, tea towels, pillowcases, etc)!

• 1 3x4 linoleum carving block
• 8x10 print paper

About the Teacher

Carla is an artist, activist, educator, and mama. She loves to paint, print, and photograph and enjoys learning new forms of creating. While exploring themes related to nature, color, and texture, she finds peace and connection as she creates. She believes that art connects us to ourselves, to each other and to nature and enjoys working through the creative process alongside others.
