July 17 - Shibori Dyeing with Indigo
Sunday, July 17
11:00 AM - 2:00 PM PST
Learn the magic of indigo dye through Shibori techniques in this hands-on all level workshop. You will design, dye and take home a finished tote bag. We'll use a variety of tools like clamps, clothespins, and even wooden shapes to compress the fabric--the compressed areas resist the dye, creating beautiful patterns and color variations. You will get to create beautiful designs using a few Shibori techniques on cotton fabric to take home, and you'll be able to make projects on your own (placemats, pillow cover, napkins, etc.)
All materials are provided AND you can bring a couple of your own small goods to dye like placemats, pillow covers, napkins, etc. Please NO bedding, duvet covers, curtains, etc. Items must be a natural fabric (cotton, linen, or silk).
Join a group of students and immerse in an afternoon of fun and creativity! Light refreshments will be provided. Feel free to bring your own lunch.
Adults and teens of all levels welcome! If held indoors masks are required to protect our immunocompromised community members. Let's look out for one another.
